But it also means the Jimny has more headroom for a genuine sound upgrade than almost anything else on the road. What's actually in a Jimny's factory system
The 3-door Jimny and entry Jimny Lite run just 2 factory speakers, paired with a 7-inch (Lite) or 9-inch (Jimny) touchscreen. The longer 5-door Jimny XL steps up to 4 speakers on its 9-inch touchscreen. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come as standard across the range, along with DAB+ digital radio, steering wheel audio controls and Bluetooth — so the source and connectivity are genuinely modern, even though the speaker count is closer to what you'd have found in a car a couple of decades ago.
Where the factory system falls short
- Very few speakers to begin with — 2 speakers on Jimny and Jimny Lite means there's no dedicated tweeter, midrange or bass driver doing its own job; one driver per side is covering the entire frequency range.
- No subwoofer at any grade — even the 4-speaker Jimny XL has nothing dedicated to low frequencies, so bass is essentially absent from the factory listening experience.
- A genuinely noisy cabin to work against — the Jimny's boxy, upright body and go-anywhere tyres bring more wind and road noise into the cabin than a typical passenger car, which the factory system has very little power in reserve to overcome.
- A basic factory amplifier — what amplification exists is sized for a 2 or 4-speaker system at low cost, with no meaningful clean headroom to drive better speakers even if you fitted them.
What a genuine Jimny upgrade path looks like

Frequently asked questions
My Jimny only has 2 speakers — is that really enough to upgrade?
Yes — in fact a 2 or 4-speaker Jimny sees one of the biggest before/after differences of any vehicle we build packages for, because the factory system has so little headroom to start with.
Will this void my factory warranty?
No. Our plug-and-play upgrades connect through your vehicle's existing wiring and don't require permanent modification to factory components, and the install is fully reversible. Genuine ATF products carry their own manufacturer warranty.
Do I need experience or special tools to install this myself?
Not for our plug-and-play packages — most Stage 1 installs take 1-2 hours with basic hand tools and no prior experience, Stage 2 (adding a subwoofer) around 2-3 hours, and Stage 3 (full speaker replacement) 3-5 hours. Trim removal tools are included with every package where trim needs to come off, along with full install guides and support.
Can I start with Stage 1 and add a subwoofer or speakers later?
Yes — Stage 2 and Stage 3 are built to add onto Stage 1's amplifier rather than replace it. If you've already got Stage 1 and want to step up later, get in touch and we'll make sure you're only paying for what's new.
Does my package come with a custom tune already loaded?
Not currently — no Integrated Audio package ships with a pre-loaded custom acoustic tune today.
