The HELIX AAC.3 is a high-to-low signal converter that derives a clean stereo preamp-level signal from a car radio's or factory amplifier's speaker-level output, making it possible to add an aftermarket amplifier or DSP to a factory system that has no dedicated preamp outputs. Its ADEP.3 circuit is designed to bypass factory speaker-load diagnostics so the OEM head unit doesn't flag a fault once its speaker outputs are tapped, and a Power Save mode reduces the converter's own current draw after around two minutes without a signal. Remote turn-on can be derived from either a DC offset on the speaker line or a switched trigger signal, to suit different factory wiring.
Product specifications:
- Max. speaker input: 16 V (65 W @ 4 Ω)
- Max. output level: 4.0 V
- Input impedance: 13 Ω
- Frequency response: 18 Hz – 80,000 Hz
- Operating voltage: 7–18 V
- Remote output current: 200 mA
- Dimensions: 77 x 37 x 20 mm

For installations needing a higher input-voltage ceiling (up to 25 V), see the HELIX AAC.3 HP.
