The single most common question we expect on Cuore One: "will it just plug into my DSP, or do I need the extra cable?" Here's the honest answer, including what isn't published yet.
SCP vs Control Input — the two port types
Audiotec Fischer's ACO-platform DSPs (the current HELIX, BRAX and MATCH generation) use one of two remote connections:
- SCP (Smart Control Port) — a single connector that carries both the control signal and power to the remote. This is what Cuore One's included 5m cable is built for. Plug it in, no adapter required.
- Control Input — the older-style control connection used on some DSPs and setups instead of, or alongside, SCP. If your DSP only has a Control Input port, Cuore One's stock cable won't connect directly — you'll need the separate DGA Bridge Cable (€49).
You can tell this distinction matters because Audiotec Fischer sells its own official remotes — Conductor and Director — in separate SCP and Control Input versions. See our Cuore One vs Conductor, Conductor Pro and Director comparison for how those compare to Cuore One directly.
Which HELIX, MATCH and BRAX DSPs need the adapter?
damn good audio's own site (damngoodaudio.com) publishes a model-level compatibility checker for Cuore One — a searchable tool plus full SCP and Control Input model lists, separate from the PC-Tool/firmware table further down this page. We cross-referenced that tool against every HELIX, MATCH and BRAX DSP processor and DSP-integrated amplifier currently live in our store, product by product. Here's what that gave us:
✅ Confirmed — SCP port, no adapter needed
Cuore One's included cable plugs straight in. These are every DSP-equipped model we currently stock that damn good audio explicitly lists under SCP:
- HELIX DSP ULTRA S
- HELIX DSP PRO MK3
- HELIX DSP MINI MK2
- HELIX DSP.3S
- HELIX NEXT DSP ULTRA XT
- HELIX AMPLIFY 206 DSP
- HELIX NEXT V EIGHT DSP ULTIMATE
- HELIX V EIGHTEEN DSP
- HELIX V TWELVE DSP MK2
- HELIX P SIX DSP Ultimate
- MATCH UP 8BMW MK2
- MATCH UP 10DSP MK2
- MATCH UP 4DSP
- MATCH PP 86DSP MK2
- MATCH UP 10DSP 24V
- MATCH M 5.4DSP
🔌 Confirmed — Control Input only, adapter required
None of the DSP-equipped HELIX, MATCH or BRAX products we currently stock as new fall in this bucket. damn good audio's Control Input list does exist and does apply to real, previously-sold ACO-platform gear — it currently names Helix DSP ULTRA (pre-S), DSP.3 (pre-S), DSP MINI (pre-MK2), V TWELVE DSP (pre-MK2), V EIGHT DSP MK2, M SIX DSP and M FOUR DSP, Match M 5DSP MK2, and a Brax DSP model. If you already own one of those older units rather than buying new from us, you'll need the DGA Bridge Cable — check the exact name against the live list on damngoodaudio.com, since we don't currently sell these as new stock and can't verify your specific unit for you.
❔ Not yet confirmed by damn good audio — check your firmware version using the steps above
These DSP-equipped products are in our range but did not return a match on damn good audio's compatibility checker (we tested each model name directly on their site) — meaning damn good audio hasn't yet told us, one way or the other, which port these need:
- BRAX DSP CORE Black
- BRAX DSP CORE Silver
- HELIX Z10 DSP — not yet officially released by Audiotec Fischer, so this is expected: there's no official spec sheet for it yet, let alone a Cuore One compatibility entry.
If you're running one of these three, don't guess — use the firmware-version check below, and if that doesn't resolve it, ask us via Contact Us before ordering the Bridge Cable either way.
What's confirmed so far for Cuore One
Alongside the model-level checker above, damn good audio also publishes compatibility by DSP PC-Tool and ACO firmware version — this is a second, independent check that applies even to a DSP confirmed under SCP or Control Input above. As of now, the confirmed combinations are:
| DSP PC-Tool version | ACO firmware |
|---|---|
| 6.03.04 | 26 |
| 6.03.03 | 26 |
| 5.07.01 | 19 |
How to check your own DSP
- Open DSP PC-Tool and connect to your unit.
- Check the software version and the ACO firmware version shown in the About or System screen.
- Compare both numbers against the table above.
- Physically check whether your DSP has an SCP port, a Control Input port, or both — this determines whether you need the Bridge Cable, separately from firmware compatibility.
Being straight about what we don't know yet
damn good audio does now publish a model-level SCP vs Control Input list (used for the section above) as well as the PC-Tool/firmware table. What's still genuinely unconfirmed: BRAX DSP CORE (Black and Silver) doesn't appear on either of damn good audio's published lists yet, and the upcoming HELIX Z10 DSP has no official specs at all, let alone a Cuore One compatibility entry. For those, or if your specific firmware isn't listed in the table above, don't guess — check with your installer or reach out to us via Contact Us before ordering, especially if you'd rather not find out you need the extra €49 cable after the fact.
Once you've confirmed compatibility, the full Cuore One product listing has current pricing and availability, and our DIY install guide covers general wiring and connector basics if you're fitting it yourself. If you're still deciding whether you need a remote at all before worrying about cabling, start with our Cuore One overview.
